1. Officer Reports Quartermaster - We have a somewhat new pricing scheme for a bunch of the Magic singles, which seems to be moving them. We also recently applied for a direct account with Chessex so we can order dice directly from them, giving us a better discount and making us more likely to be able to get in specific dice, if people pre-order them. We will probably get a certain amount of bulk d20s and some bulk general dice. We’re going to be getting a whole lot more Magic singles on Friday, because someone is selling us his collection. Marco is running his Sorcerer Indie RPG night on Friday, at 7:00 PM. Treasurer - We’re not doing great in terms of money at the moment. As long as the M:tG sells relatively rapidly, we’ll be fine to pay bills. Now that it’s easier to get Magic in, we can probably get less in to start with each set. General Manager - We’ve had a couple of successful Board Game Day weekends. The newsletter came out with a mention of our sale. Marco is now running a monthly Indie RPG, which should hopefully have the RPGs pick up again. A newsletter will go out tonight. We have a new air purifier and dehumidifier, so we should be able to steam-clean the floor soon. Membership Coordinator - Friday is currently open shifts. We’re generally in need of people who can cover shifts. We want to get more new people covering the register. 2. Proposed Actions/Discussions - What should go into a Perfect Shift Wishlist/ Register Monkey Manual? We should probably be breaking “perfect shift” down into 3 shifts. The things shouldn’t necessarily be “you have to do this”, just “you have to make sure this happens”. The big thing is the cash count. It’s important, actually do it. Opening shifts should empty the dehumidifier. Closing shift should clean, so opening shift shouldn’t have to do that. Arnie will put a rough draft together and email it to the council. - Should we recommend to the GMM a decrease in council size? 7 could be the mandatory number where seats open up if we’re below it. Then we could go up if we had other people to add. If this goes through, we should change current term lengths so Gus expires in Sept and Peter expires in March. This would make summer and J-term the times there were no elections. Passed on to the General Membership as a By-Law Change. - Should we rename the General Manager to something that seems less proprietary? Game Master? Master of Time and Space? Should everything have an in house title and a public face title? Should we have official titles of Events Manager, Scheduling Manager, Inventory Manager, Treasurer? We could leave in house titles. It would just be "General Manager is also known as Events Manager, Membership Coordinator is also known as Scheduling Manager, Quartermaster is also known as Inventory Manager, Treasurer is also known as Treasurer.” Passed on to the General Membership. 3. Scheduling the next meeting Wednesday, September 15, 2010. 7:00 PM.

1. Approval of previous minutes. Unanimously approved. 2. Officer Reports. Quartermaster - We just moved a bunch of M11 in the PreRelease. It’s too late to pre-order boxes, but people can order boxes as of 12AM Friday and still get the buy-a-box promo. We have two release events. The first is Friday evening, 6PM. The second is Sunday afternoon, 1 PM. We’re working on the fact that singles in the case haven’t been moving for a while. Hopefully once the M11 release stuff turns into money we’ll be able to restock everyone’s favorites in board games, as well as requested/pre-ordered items. If anyone would like to pre-order something, tell Lee by the end of the day on Friday. General Manager - Events run by more than one person should have a pow-pow before they start. Treasurer - We had money, then Wizards stole it. They claim they will give us Magic in exchange. We have enough to pay down the credit card some. The M11 will rejuvenate our sales activity. 3. Membership Coordinator Election. Arnie is nominated. Arnie wins! He is our new membership coordinator as of July 20th. 4. Councilor Election - Council seat currently held by Gus, up for re-election. Gus is nominated. Gus wins by acclamation. - Council seat currently held by Lee, vacated on the 20th when she becomes Quartermaster, up for re-election in March. No nominations, the seat will remain open. - Council seat currently held by Arnie, vacated on the 20th when he becomes Membership Coordinator. No nominations, the seat will remain open. 4.Action recommended to the General Membership, unanimously, by the Council. Proposed Action (to be added to Official Policy Title XI under Section 3, as item B) That the Quartermaster shall be authorized to compensate an individual up to $10 in store credit (or up to 3 packs at the Quartermaster's discretion) per week for: 1. Keeping the prices of our Magic singles up to date, 2. Restocking the case and the binders as singles sell, 3. Being a knowledgeable authority for the Store in determining the value of Magic singles available for us to purchase, 4. Accepting responsibility to act as purchasing agent for the Store for M:tG singles and collections, at any time physically present in the store, and 5. Not making offers, as an individual, on cards being offered for the store to purchase. Discussion of this action. Action passes unanimously. 5. Discuss changing title of General Manager. This will be tabled til the next General Membership Meeting. 6. Scheduling of the Next General Membership Meeting. September 22, 6:30 PM.

Officer Reports Quartermaster - We have stuff, but would like more. M11! Marco does Indie Games. They are exciting! The Dresden Files fate thing is coming out soon. We’re also pre-ordering the newest Misspent Youth Edition. Other officers aren’t present. (Everyone looks beseechingly at Arnie) Later report - Treasurer - The summer has not been kind to us, but hopefully M11 will help. We’re current-ish on bills, slightly behind on sales tax.

Our currently method for pricing singles is based entirely on the internet, not on the local market, having someone in the store to deal with Magic cards is really useful.

Michael Moceri here. As the title says, I'm likely to be in town on the night of Monday, June 28th. And I'm looking for some one-shot gaming fun.
I don't know when I'm going to be free, exactly. It depends on when my business for the day concludes. As I will be working with a UMass prof, I'm sure he'll want to be done reasonably early (since we're starting the project at 10:00 AM at the latest).
I'm open to anything, but I have some stuff I can bring:
* FATE/Fudge -- The one-shot I ran before moving out of the area met with great approval. I'd certainly love to do it again (this time with more than five minutes of prep).
* Beowulf -- Local game designer Joshua Newman's game, based on Vincent Baker's Anthology Engine (used for In A Wicked Age, runner up for best indie game of the year in 2008). The game is pretty much what you'd expect.
* Don't Rest Your Head -- A wonderful game about staying awake for so long that the world loses its mind around you.
* A super secret game that I can't tell you, but with permission of the author I know several of you would like to see.
And, of course, people would be totally welcome to bring their own cool games. I'm sure Marco could dig something fun up, for example.
